simplePDM uploader is a desktop utility that facilitates uploading content to your group.

Login Dialog

When starting the software a login dialog will pop, use your simplePDM user name and password.

Functions

1.Scan Options

  • Selection box" Choose the type of files to scan.
  • Custom filter: Set a custom search filter.
  • Scan sub folders: Scan recursively inside all sub folders.

2.Folder to scan

Folder specified here will be scanned for all files matching the filter in the scan option box, you can use the browse button marked with 3 dots to browse your computer, or type the path manually using the auto complete feature.

3.Scan Button

Click this button to start the scan.

4.List Table

  • First column check box: Check the files you want to upload.
  • Title: The content title, can be editing using mouse double click option.
  • Full path: Local file location.
  • Size (kb): File size, note that files must be under 2MB.
  • Status: Upload status, will update after upload was activated.
  • Web link Display the web link after successful upload operation.

5.Selection Buttons

  • Select all: select all files in table to be uploaded.
  • Unselect all: Unselect all files in table.
  • Invert selection: Set all checked to unchecked, and unchecked to checked
  • Remove Selected: Remove all selected filed from the list

6.Upload to SimplePDM

All the setting in this section will apply to all uploaded files.

  • tags: Select tags to assign to all uploaded styles.
  • Production State: Set the production state of all uploaded files.
  • Description: Set the style description.
  • Upload to Group: Set the user group to assign the files.
  • Upload selected files: Start the upload process.

Menus

Connection

  • Logged-in user: See current logged-in usename
  • Logout: Logout and display login dialog
  • Exit: Exit the software

Edit

All edit menu function are a replica of the Selection Buttons listed above in section 5.

Help

  • Help: Access the online help.
  • About: Open the about box.

Troubleshooting

Unable to connect to the remote server
Check your internet connection and your firewall settings.
You are not a member of any group
You must be a member of a group, otherwise you can't create any content. See how you can become a group member.
You don't have rights to create content
In order to add content you have to be a content provider.
You don't have admin privileges to any group 
In order to add content you have to be granted group admin privileges.
