simplePDM bridge has a plugin specifically for the OptiTex suite, that allows opening and saving style files directly from inside OptiTex PDS, without the need to open a web-browser.

  1. Make sure you are running one of the supported OptiTex version listed in the download frame.
  2. Download the 'OptiTex plugin' instalation file from the download frame.
  3. Close all OptiTex's software openned.
  4. Run the installation executable (BridgeInstaller.exe).
  5. Open PDS.
  6. Select Always run softawre from "OptiTex LTD" and click Run on the security warning dialog.

  7. A new menu item will be appended after the Help menu.

Usage

Login

Login dialog will appear if your are not yet logged in. The user name and password are the same as your simplepdm.com account.

Open From SimplePDM

Open a style file that is already present in your simplePDM group.

  1. Enter the title name of your style (not case sensitive).
  2. Press Load Style.
  3. The file is opened in PDS.

Save To SimplePDM

Save a new style or update an existing one. Saving the file is similar to uploading it via a web-browser, although this task is much easier through this dialog. All other data such as the production state, tags, content reference, etc'. can still be edited through the website. Tofacilitate editing, after saving the style your web-browser will open and show you style in simplePDM.

  1. Enter an existing title for the style you would like to update or a new title for a new style. remember that in all content titles are unique.
  2. Check the Create a New Thumbnail if you would like simplePDM bridge to populate the icon image of the style. You will usually select this option, unless you've already uploaded a real photo of the style.
  3. Optional but recommended: Add a log message, so others will know what changed in the file.
  4. Optional: Check the Save as New Style if you would like to create a completely new style. In this case the thumbnail will be automatically created for the new style.
  5. Use Load Tags to load the current tags of the style.
  6. Click on Update Style.
