SimplePDM Bridge is a context menu shell extension for Windows, that allows opening and saving files directly to your desktop computer, without the need to open a web-browser.

Installation

1. Download SimplePDM Bridge installer file attached in the download section.
2. Run the installation executable (BridgeInstaller.exe).
3. Done.

Usage

The extension is now part of your context menu items, this means that when right clicking with you mouse on a file, folder or the background of your desktop, you will see Load From SimplePDM or Save To SimplePDM.

Login

Login dialog will appear if your are not yet logged in. The user name and password are the same as your simplepdm.com account. After login in an icon will appear in your tray icon area, you can use it to logout when needed.

Open From SimplePDM

Open a content file that is already present in your simplePDM group.

1. Right click on a folder or folder background.
2. Click on 'Load From SimplePDM'.
3. Enter the title name of your content (not case sensitive).
4. Press Load.
5. The file will be saved into the folder, and a confirmation message will pop next to your tray icon area .

Save To SimplePDM

Save a new content or update an existing one. Saving the file is similar to uploading it via a web-browser, although this task is much easier through this dialog. All other data such as the production state, tags, content reference, etc' can still be edited through the web page. To facilitate editing, after saving the content your web-browser will open and show you the content in simplePDM.

1. Enter an existing title for the content you would like to update or a new title for a new content. Remember that all content titles must be unique.
2. Check the Create a New Thumbnail if you would like simplePDM bridge to populate the icon image of the content. You will usually select this option, unless you've already uploaded a real photo of the content.
3. Optional but recommended: Add a log message, so others will know what changed in the file.
4. Optional: Check the Save as New Content if you would like to create a completely new content. In this case the thumbnail will be automatically created for the new content.
5. Click on Update content.

Options

The option menu is the same for both save and load dialogs :

• Open Content in Browser - When checked will open the content last saved or opened in your internet browser.
• Use Node ID / Use Content Title - Switch between content title and content node ID.
