Form Explanation
Title
Every content must have a title. The title must be unique within your working group.
Tags
Tags are like keywords. You can describe your content with those keywords, doing that will enable you to find all the content that belongs to a certain tag.For instance, If you create a shirt style, then your tags might be shirt, "woman petite" , summer, 2010. Later it will be very easy to find all the shirts that were made for summer 2010.
For more information see Tags page.
Icon Image
This field accepts images. Upload an image there that best describes your content - this image can help you, for example, find your styles quickly.
In the Image content type this field is called Image. This image will apear in full scale and will not be scaled down. Use it when you take pictures of the real model for catalogs or for online discussions about required alterations.
Description
Enter free text information about the style in this text area. It can be for example a remark about a style or explanation about how to spread a marker.
File
This field is named differently in every content type, but the functionality is the same - here you will upload your file. If it's a CAD file then you will create a Style content and upload it. If it's a PDF file then it's probably your tech pack, and it's place is a Spec content. Remember that when you edit your content and upload a new file, the older file is not deleted permanently - you can always see it under the Revisions tabs.
Content Reference
Contents can be related to each other. For instance, a button image might be related to a certain spec. Two different styles might be related to a single marker.
The content reference field allows you to show this relation. Start typing the title of the content you would like to refer. simplePDM will help you and auto-complete the title name. You should see something like this: My content title example[nid:1]. (the number of the nid will change of course)
The nid is actually the node ID, also known as the unique key of your content - learn more here.
Refered content will appear when viewing a content.
Production State
This field describes the status of your content. Taking a shirt style as an example, when you first upload the file it's probably still not ready, it's just a draft, thus the Draft state. Later on when it's in better shape you might ask for another group member to review it. Your friendly member may set it to Ready for production or if there are some pending issues, set it to Needs fix.
Note that if there are comments about your content they can be entered in the comments.
Audience
Here you see the group this content will belong to. In most cases you will be a member of a single group, so you can simply disregard it, as it is anyway in a read only state.
Log Message
When you create or edit content it's always a good idea to write a line or two about the reason you did it. Even if you are the only member of your group, it's a good habit and it will make it easier for you to keep track of your changes. The log message appears under the revisions tab.
Save
Save your changes.
Preview
Preview your changes before saving. This can be useful when using some HTML in the Description field and you want to make sure your syntax is correct.
Delete
This button will appear when you edit a content. Remember, when you delete a content it's gone for good - so be careful! To make things less risky you can delete only the content you created.
