Automatic Tasks

In contrast to task content type, automatic tasks - as the name suggests - happen automatically without the need of you to pre-define anything. simplePDM Robot does it for you. The automatic tasks are following the Data Driven concept, which means in simpler words - Your data sends itself to be processed and returns with new data. Let's see an example to make the concept clearer.
You create a style content and you upload a pattern you dratted in your CAD software. Let's say the file is a pattern of a shirt. The file has some interesting information hidden inside of it: It has all the pieces - a sleeve, front and back piece. It has the quantity of every piece. It has a thumbnail that can help you recognize the contents of the style. It has the grading table. It has measurements that tell you the width of the bust, waist and hips.
As you can see there's a lot of information. What simplePDM Robot is doing can be summarized to - "Did you just upload a new file? Is this of a recognizable CAD format? Cool, now I can extract some important information out of it. And while I'm at it I'll also convert the file format to other formats, so collaboration with others will be easier." Most tasks are activated within a minute or two, depending on your file size and on rare cases on site traffic.

Task State

When automatic tasks are being processed a message will appear on top of your screen, and the Task state is set to Pending. You may keep working on the content even if it's not marked as Completed. Possible task states are:

Completed

Error
